Interserve has been awarded a five-year 拢6.5m contract to carry out building and maintenance services for Lewisham Council.
The contract covers 158 buildings throughout the borough including a mix of non-residential sites such as corporate buildings offices, depots and libraries.
Interserve will provide a range of services including management and administration, health and safety, environmental management and building maintenance services.
Keith Dorling, managing director for home affairs and local authorities at Interserve said: 鈥淭his important project adds to Interserve鈥檚 already extensive local authority experience and enables us to bring best practice in support services to Lewisham Council.
鈥淭he council was looking for a partner who could offer best value whilst retaining a flexible attitude to delivering services cost effectively, as local government鈥檚 requirements change to meet the current political and budgetary challenges.
鈥淚t is important for taxpayers to know their money is being well spent, and Lewisham鈥檚 choice of Interserve as an intelligent partner means that we can help Lewisham streamline services and save money while putting the citizen鈥檚 voice at the heart of decision making.鈥
