An atmospheric driverless railway will be an attraction at London’s Postal Museum
One of the main attractions at London’s Postal Museum, due to open today, will be the subterranean ‘Mail Rail’ line, pictured.
The driverless railway, first used in 1927, transported mail along six-and-half miles of tunnel between eight purpose-built stations around London, 70ft beneath the capital’s streets.
It closed in 2003, but from September visitors to the museum will be able to ride along part of the line, as well as learning more about its history.
