A giant poppy is carved into the hillside at the Fovant Badges memorial near Salisbury in Wiltshire, 100 years after troops stationed nearby carved the first regimental badge there. It is the first addition since 1970, with eight remaining of the original 20, which were created as a memorial to the soldiers who passed through Fovant and its neighbouring villages on their way to the First World War, many never to return.
