Consulting engineer promotes head of sustainable group Ashley Bateson, who is working on the energy strategy for the new East Terminal at Heathrow

Consulting Hoare Lea has appointed Ashley Bateson, who established a sustainability group at the firm in 2004, as partner.

Bateson's work includes devising an energy strategy for the new 拢1.2bn East Terminal at Heathrow, and a post occupancy evaluation of award-winning projects such as the Environment Agency鈥檚 Red Kite House. He has published many academic papers and recently co-authored the BCO Best Practice Guide to Environmental Management in Offices. The sustainability group he heads up provides advice to clients and architects in all matters relating to sustainability and the carbon agenda.

In 2006 Ashley was presented with the British Land CSR Award 2006 with the citation 鈥淗oare Lea made an outstanding contribution towards our mission to construct sustainable buildings with their energy strategies for Regents Place and Canada Water鈥.
