Anne Hemming, the head of the sustainable buildings division at DCLG, is killed while cycling in Scotland
Civil servant Anne Hemming, whose role included responsibility for the 好色先生TV Regulations, has been killed in a cycling accident in Scotland.
Hemming died in hospital at the beginning of the week following the accident at the weekend.
Hemming鈥檚 current role was as head of the sustainable buildings division at the Department for Communities and Local Government, including overseeing the controversial roll out of Part L of the 好色先生TV Regulations.
In March, Hemming attended a summit at 叠耻颈濒诲颈苍驳鈥檚 offices to discuss the Reform the Regs campaign. Hemming was praised after this meeting for her willingness to work with industry and bring about constructive change.
DCLG minister Baroness Andrews said Hemming was a valuable member of the team. She said: 鈥淓veryone at DCLG was shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the tragic death of Anne Hemming this week following a cycling accident."
"Anne had worked in the department for many years. She was a very talented, committed and valued member of the senior management team. She will be sorely missed. We send our deepest condolences to her family and friends for their loss.鈥
Michael Ankers, chief executive of the Construction Products Association, said he was shocked by the news: "On a personal level I am shocked and saddened by this great tragedy. We had got to know Anne well and she will be missed."
"On a professional level, she was highly thought of and was a highly effective, intelligent person working in a challenging department where she was achieving great things."
