HCA executive director for London to be Boris Johnson鈥檚 new housing boss
The executive director of the Homes and Communities Agency in London is to become the new interim head of housing and regeneration at the Greater London Authority.
The expected move means David Lunts will lead the closure of the HCA in London and the transfer of its functions and those of the London Development Agency into a new GLA housing and regeneration directorate.
The HCA鈥檚 head of strategy in London, Jackie Jacob, will cover Lunts鈥 position at the HCA while the body winds down.
The move will see the transfer of powers take place in April 2012.
Pat Ritchie, Chief Executive of the HCA, said: 鈥淲hile we鈥檙e sorry to lose David, this is a very positive move. David will be instrumental in paving the way for a smooth transition of the HCA London team and its activities to the GLA and I wish him every success.鈥
Prior to joining the HCA, David was executive director of policy and partnerships at the GLA, where he managed planning, regeneration, environmental and social policy. He will continue to work closely with HCA colleagues on the implementation of the new Affordable Rent model, as well as the preparations for the transition.
