Homes and Communities Agency brings forward 18 housing schemes through Get Britain 好色先生TV programme
The Homes and Communities Agency has fast-tracked 18 housing schemes though its Get Britain 好色先生TV programme in a bid to kick start construction on 1,300 homes.
The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) said it had received 170 applications for its 拢420m Get Britain 好色先生TV programme aimed at kick starting stalled housing developments, with 18 schemes brought forward.
The HCA said subject to due diligence and contracting, the 18 commissioned schemes could deliver up to 1,300 new homes, including on public sector sites.
The HCA said the remainder of the bids would now be assessed with a shortlist of the schemes to be taken forward published in March.
Pat Ritchie, HCA chief executive said: 鈥淥ur partners have once again demonstrated their appetite to get Britain building by developing much needed new homes, in turn generating additional benefits through economic growth and activity.
鈥淲e have had a strong response to our programme and will now work to establish a shortlist of schemes which fit strongly with locally identified priorities and represent good value for money for the taxpayer.
鈥淚 am particularly pleased that teams at the HCA have moved quickly to identify 18 schemes of particular local importance that we can get moving immediately.鈥
Get Britain 好色先生TV, announced in the autumn, replaced the previous government鈥檚 Kickstart programme, which was scrapped by the coalition government in 2010. The programme is aimed at unlocking housing schemes that have stalled in the economic downturn.
