The new £18m David Young Academy in Leeds is being built for 1,200 children by HBG
Contractor HBG has scooped up an £18m project to design and build the new David Young Community Academy in Leeds, its third academy project.
The new academy, for 1200 school children, will be built on a Greenfield site adjacent to the former Foxwood School in the Seacroft area of the city and will replace Braim Wood and St Agnes Stewart schools.
Nearly 10,000m2 of teaching accomodation will include integral sports and assembly halls, a learning resource centre, ICT classrooms, music rooms, technology workshops, and science laboratories.
The client for the scheme is the David Young Academy Trust, the architect is Bond Bryan partnership and the QS is Turner and Townsend. It is due to complete in August 2006.
