Scheme built by RG Carter for University of East Anglia cost 拢12.5m

Hawkins Brown Norwich

Contractor RG Carter has completed a new research and education building at the University of East Anglia in Norwich.

Research being undertaken in the building includes treatments for diseases affecting ageing populations, immunology and anti-biotic resistance. It will also house education facilities for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The Hawkins Brown-designed facilities are intended to improve translational research in collaboration with the NHS whilst the clinical teaching areas are focussed on providing healthcare learning environments for the university鈥檚 medical school.

The 拢12.5m building is located at the city鈥檚 research park and is the first block to be completed under an expansion plan of the park.

Earlier this year, Hawkins Brown said more higher education work in the UK was helping swell its revenue which it said it expects to be 拢14.5m this year, up from the 拢11.4m it posted last time.
