Wins include support role on rationalisation of civil service鈥檚 UK estate
Sweett Group has announced a hat-trick of major contract wins, including a role on the rationalisation of the civil service鈥檚 vast estate.
The consultant has been appointed by the British Council of Offices to provide multidisciplinary services on a research study for the civil service鈥檚 government hubs programme.
The study will provide a blueprint for decanting much of the 8.6 million sq ft of existing public sector offices into new multi-department hubs in around 18-20 strategic locations across the country.
The requirement for space will fall between 25,000m虏-60,000m虏 and the new hubs will typically be Grade A office space and meet BREEAM Excellent standard.
Sweett has also won a role supporting engineer Pell Frischmann on the redevelopment of Lambeth council鈥檚 town hall (pictured) and offices in Brixton.
The scheme by architect Cartwright Pickard for Muse Developments will see a new council office built, while the grade II-listed town hall and neighbouring properties will also be revamped. The development will deliver close to 200 homes.
Finally, Sweett has been appointed by Royal Holloway, University of London on the development of 56 three and four-storey townhouses for students at its north campus.
Sweett will provide project management, supervisor and quantity surveying services on the project.
