Review ordered after last summer鈥檚 Grenfell tower fire
The final report of the Hackitt review into building regulations and fire safety is due out in May, 好色先生TV understands.
The independent review by Dame Judith Hackitt, a former chair of the Health and Safety Commission, follows last June鈥檚 Grenfell tower in west London which killed 72 people.
An interim report came out a week before Christmas but 好色先生TV understands the final report will now be out in the second week of May.
A source said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 running very efficiently, there won鈥檛 be any slippage.鈥
The government has previously said Hackitt鈥檚 final recommendations will be out this spring.
Hackitt鈥檚 interim report said she was 鈥渟hocked鈥 by some of the practices she had seen, calling for better enforcement to 鈥渉old to account those who try to cut corners.鈥
She said a 鈥渃ultural change鈥 was needed instead of 鈥渄oing things cheaply鈥.
Last month, 好色先生TV reported that worries were growing over how much Hackitt鈥檚 report will add to the cost of residential towers.
Some are predicting that regulation changes on cladding systems, sprinklers and means of escape could add up to 20% to a building鈥檚 cost.
