The two teams will work together but will retain their separate brand identities for six to nine months, after which a fresh brand may be introduced.
Martin Walker, Second London Wall's managing director, and Michael Blinco, a board director, will retain their roles in the new organisation. They will be joined on the board by Graham Fairhurst, GVA's head of building, project management and consultancy, and Malcolm Whetstone, its head of operations.
Walker said: "I look forward to creating a centre of project management excellence that will enhance the service offered to both Second London Wall and GVA's clients."
GVA chief executive Michael Corbett added: "This acquisition is a strategic move in our growth and the reputation of Second London Wall in the project management world will complement our present building services capabilities."
Second London Wall's experience is mainly centred on the private sector. It has worked on commercial, retail and residential schemes.
