拢100m Four Ashes waste incinerator plant granted planning permission
Planning approval has been granted for a 拢100m waste-to-energy plant in Staffordshire.
The Four Ashes waste incinerator plant is a joint venture between Veolia and French process contractor CNIM.
Once completed the facility will handle 300,000 tonnes of waste a year and generate 23MW, enough electricity to power 32,000 homes.
The project will create around 250 construction jobs, with Clugston Construction set to carry out work on the 拢40m civils contract for the plant.
Tom Spaul, chief operating officer of VES, said: 鈥淭he revised proposals will reduce the building鈥檚 overall footprint, size and height from that previously approved.
鈥淚t will contribute substantially to the local economy, both during and beyond the construction process, with the creation of 40 long-term jobs.鈥�
