Architect Cassidy + Ashton wins approval for 90 hectare mixed-use scheme
A 90-hectare mixed-use development on the outskirts of Blackpool in Lancashire has been given the go-ahead.
Architect Cassidy + Ashton has been granted planning permission for its scheme at Whyndyke Farm, which includes plans for 1,400 new homes, a primary school, two shopping areas, a pub, health centre and a community centre, and an additional 20 hectares for industrial, storage or distribution use.
Other elements of the scheme include car parking, sports pitches and allotments, as well as natural habitats such as ponds and watercourses. Highways infrastructure will also be created to link the site to existing roadways.
Cassidy + Ashton secured planning on behalf of the Whyndyke Consortium. The development is expected to be completed by 2030.
