As negotiations continue over the Shard, images have been revealed of the first UK project designed by its architect, Renzo Piano, close to Centrepoint tower in central London.

Known as Central St Giles, the 46,000m2 scheme, by Legal & General and Mitsubishi Estate Company, has started on site and will combine offices, 11 retail units and 109 apartments. Bovis Lend Lease is construction manager, Fletcher Priest is executive architect, and Arup is structural and services engineer.
