Graham Construction has been awarded a 拢150m partnership deal with the north London borough of Barnet.

The deal will see the contractor build out major projects for the council over five years, with the option to extend for a further two. Graham is the sole winner.

The works will include both new-build and refurbishment projects across a range of areas, including new schools, leisure centres and community centres.

It will begin with a couple of already approved leisure centre and school developments.

The announcement comes just three months after Graham scooped a role on the Department of Health鈥檚 P22 framework.

The firm was one of only two contractors - alongside Bam - to knock an incumbent off the six-strong framework. The other winners were Kier, IHP (a Vinci and Sir Robert McAlpine joint venture), Interserve and Galliford Try.

Commenting on the Barnet contract award, the leader of the council, councillor Richard Cornelius, said: 鈥淎s our borough expands so does the need for us to provide more housing, school places, leisure centres and community facilities for our residents, which is why we are investing 拢565m in the future of the borough.鈥�
