Irish builders' merchant buys Davies plumbing business and Garvey's Builders Merchant.
Grafton Group, the Irish builders鈥 merchant and DIY group, has bought two companies in the country which are expected to provide a combined annual turnover of 鈧47.4m (拢32m).
It has acquired Davies, a Dublin-based plumbing, heating and drainage business, and Garvey鈥檚 Builders Merchant, based in Roscommon.
Davies was established in 1933 and has an annual turnover of 鈧37.4m.
Garvey鈥檚 works predominantly in the repair, maintenance and improvement sector and the residential construction market. It has an annual turnover of 鈧10m.
Grafton director Leo Martin said that the Davies acquisition would enable the company to broaden its product portfolio in markets which have strong growth opportunities and described Garvey鈥檚 as 鈥渁n ideal geographic fit.鈥
