170 tax offices will be 鈥榬eoriented into 13 new regional centres鈥

The government has announced names of the nine firms which have secured contracts to fit-out new offices for HMRC and other facilities across the UK, as part of a 拢1bn investment plan.

The Government Hubs Programme will involve the structural reorganisation and transformation of the current estate.

The winning companies are Bam, BW Interiors, Interserve, ISG, Mace, Overbury, Shaylor Group, Styles & Wood and Wates.

The government said that for HMRC, this transformation process 鈥渞epresented a considerable consolidation programme which will see the current landscape of 170 offices reoriented into 13 new regional centres, equipped with digital infrastructure and training facilities鈥.

It added: 鈥淔rom a wider government perspective, the programme will transform central government鈥檚 office estate by accommodating departmental workforces in shared regional hubs and supporting office estate.鈥

The programme of works comprises a range of projects nationally of varying sizes over a four-year period.
