New recruit will report to head of rail Mark Syrett
Gleeds has named an ex-Mott MacDonald manager as its new director of cost management for its UK rail business.
Richard Stansfield (pictured) has joined Gleeds to help improve its relationship with Network Rail and grow its rail business more generally.
Stansfield worked for small consultant Initiate Project Solutions before the move, but has spent time at Mott MacDonald, Faithful & Gould and Network Rail during his more than thirty years in the industry.
He will now report to Mark Syrett, Gleeds’ head of rail, who joined the firm in 2017 from Crossrail.
Gleeds has carried out commercial and project management services for Network Rail since 2015, with schemes including the redevelopment of Leeds train station and a mixed-use project at Clapham, as well as work on Crossrail and Crossrail 2.
It is also currently a national lead on transport commercial strategy for the Department for Transport.
