A tiny private house in Costa Rica, designed by London-based architect Gianni Botsford, has won the RIBA Lubetkin Prize for international architecture.
The judges praised it for 鈥渢he timber pyrotechnics of the roof structure鈥 that nevertheless 鈥渃reates a calm and comfortable place to be鈥.
Thirty other buildings were also given RIBA awards for architectural excellence last Friday evening, including Foster + Partners and HOK Sport鈥檚 Wembley stadium and Denton Corker Marshall鈥檚 Civil Justice Centre in Manchester.
