Six developers shortlisted for 700 new homes scheme on Leybourne Grange hospital site
Six developers, including George Wimpey and Crest Nicholson, have been shortlisted for the redevelopment of a former hospital site.
English Partnerships has announced the companies that will compete to build 700 new homes on the Leybourne Grange hospital site.
They are Berkeley Homes, Countryside Properties, Crest Nicholson, George Wimpey, Grange Village Partnership and Taylor Woodrow Developments.
Detailed proposals will be submitted in October, and EP will announce the preferred developer the following month. Work starts on site in autumn 2007.
The site forms part of the agency’s Hospital Sites Programme, which aims to bring 96 redundant hospital sites back into use. One hundred of the homes will be allocated to first-time buyers.
EP is also looking for a development partner to undertake the conversion of listed buildings, including the Grade II listed Manor House.
