Contractor, half owned by Balfour Beatty, to build government complex by 2011
Gammon Construction has secured a 拢320m contract to build a government complex in Hong Kong. Balfour Beatty holds a 50% stake in the company, which will overlook the construction together with Chinese civil engineering firm Hip Hing Construction.
The project includes buildings for the legislative council and central government, a recreational open space, two elevated walkways, car parking and other facilities.
The site stretches over 130,00 m2 with over 3000 builders working on the construction. The project is set to finish in 2011.
