Major new entertainment complex in Birmingham set to create up to 1,000 jobs
Housebuilder and construction group Galliford Try has been selected as the preferred bidder for the 拢80m Resorts World contract at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.
The major new entertainment complex is set to create up to 1,000 jobs in the area and includes a casino, a four star hotel and suites, a spa, conference and banqueting facilities, a retail and food outlet and a multi-screen cinema.
Resorts World is the first phase of a master plan for the NEC site designed to deliver a range of leisure and business facilities to complement the exhibition spaces and arena.
Work on the site is set to start on site during the first quarter of 2012 with completion expected during the first quarter of March 2014.
Galliford Try chief executive Greg Fitzgerald said: 鈥淲e are delighted to be selected as preferred bidder by Genting UK for what will be one of the most significant leisure and entertainment developments to be built in the UK in recent years.鈥
