New office HQ to consolidate council offices into one building
Galliford Try has won a 拢40m contract to build a new headquarters for Northamptonshire County Council.
The 189,400 sq ft four-storey office has been designed to consolidate the council鈥檚 existing offices into one space and regenerate the south side of Northampton Town Centre as part of the Northampton Alive initiative.
The latest win adds to a good start to the year for Galliford Try, which also won four new care home contracts worth a combined 拢72m last month.
Galliford Try Executive Chairman Greg Fitzgerald commented: 鈥淲e are delighted to have been appointed to such a significant project for Northamptonshire County Council. Our presence within the East Midlands region continues to grow and we look forward to delivering high quality facilities for the Council鈥檚 staff and the local people accessing their services.鈥
Designed by architects BDP, the new building will see a derelict land in the heart of Northampton itself transformed and allow 2,000 local authority staff to relocate from 12 ageing buildings into one BREEAM Excellent headquarters.
