The biggest single fine of this group was levied by the OFT on Galliford Try, which received a penalty of 拢8,333,329, while Apollo was served with a fine of 拢2,150,536; Sol Construction 拢1,835,702; G&J Seddon 拢1,516,646; GF Tomlinson 拢1,269,270 and Interclass 拢464,406.
None of these companies are contesting liability.
Lawyers close to the process have told 好色先生TV that they expect the judgments to be broadly consistent with that of last Friday鈥檚 decision on another six construction companies, including Kier and John Sisk. That judgment found that the OFT had applied 鈥渆xcessive鈥 fines and reduced the amount they must pay by up to 94 per cent.
The largest monetary reduction was achieved by Kier, which will now have to pay less than 拢2m compared with the original fine it had faced of 拢17.9m.
