Company reports excellent trading as housing division completions hit record 593 units in first half
Contractor and housebuilder Galliford Try has announced a construction order book of 拢2.3 billion in a trading update released today.
The company said that it had experienced 鈥渆xcellent first half trading鈥 and that it expected strong half year results, in line with the board鈥檚 expectations. The firm鈥檚 housing division completed 593 units in the first half, a company record.
In its statement, the company said it was increasing its investment in housebuilding and was 鈥渨ell-placed鈥 to achieve targets for the full year to 30 June 2007.
The firm, which in the past year has acquired Chartdale Homes and Morrison Construction, has recently secured preferred development partner status for 553 homes on regeneration sites with English Partnerships. It has also won a contract to build the 拢79m Whitelee wind farm, Europe鈥檚 biggest onshore windfarm.
