Four men who scammed brothers out of 拢6.5m on property deal are given prison sentence

Nick and Christian Candy were scammed out of 拢6.5m by four men now all over 60 years old.

The men forged paperwork to pretend they owned a 47-acre site in Berkshire which the Candy brothers paid 拢6.5m for in 2004.

The four men were sentenced to up to six years in prison last week at Reading crown court for their 鈥渨hite collar鈥 fraud after it emerged the King's Beeches site was in fact owned by a billionaire Saudi sheik who was completely unaware of the sale.

The Land Registry, which didn't spot the forged documents and allowed the sale to go ahead, is now paying it's biggest ever compensation payment of 拢8m to the Candies and HBOS.
