The shortlist includes Denton Corker Marshall's Manchester Civil Justice Centre and BDP's northern HQ
The John Rylands Library and Civil Justice Centre in Manchester have been shortlisted for the city's building of the year.
The projects are up for the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce鈥檚 building of the year award, the winner of which will be announced on 11 October.
Other shortlisted buildings include Manchester University鈥檚 new humanities department and BDP Architects鈥 northern headquarters.
The library, which was designed by Sir Basil Champneys in the 1890s, reopens today after a 拢17m refurbishment.
The 拢113m Manchester Civil Justice Centre, designed by architect Denton Corker Marshall, is the biggest court complex to be built in the UK since the Royal Courts of Justice in London.
Chairman of the chamber鈥檚 building and development section said: 鈥淭his year鈥檚 shortlisted buildings represented a broad spectrum of projects and is real testament to the calibre of work being undertaken in our region.鈥
Previous winners of the award include the Pinnacle 好色先生TV on Manchester鈥檚 King Street and the Beetham Tower.
