Foster + Partners have released images of "Blue City" in Oman.
The new city will be home to 200,000 people on a coastal stretch to the west of Muscat.
The masterplan is made up of a series of clustered communities inspired by traditional Omani architecture, with private courtyards and winding pathways.
There will also be schools, a university, stadia, golf facilities, a concert hall, marina, and souks.
The surrounding beaches and a natural creek will be improved, with hotels, restaurants and a pedestrian route along the waterfront.
It is to be known as 鈥楢l Madina Al Zarqa鈥 which means 鈥楤lue City鈥.
