Hastings firm eyes growth new chairman and 拢9m in fresh funding

Former Mace construction boss Mark Castle has joined an East Sussex fire sprinkler firm as its non-executive chairman.

Castle鈥檚 appointment comes as family firm Triangle Fire Systems said investor BFG had pumped 拢9m into the business which is based in Hastings.

Triangle Fire Systems specialises in the design, installation and maintenance of sprinkler systems in domestic, commercial and retail buildings across the UK.

In its last set of results filed at Companies House, revenue in the year to February 2021 was flat at 拢21.4m but pre-tax profit was up by half to 拢2.2m.

The firm said it had 82 employees during the period, up from 72 for the 12 months before.

Triangle said Castle鈥檚 arrival was part of the BFG deal with Castle adding he was 鈥渓ook[ing] forward to putting my experience of scaling businesses to good use as the company gears up for its next stage of growth鈥.

Castle remains a non-executive at Mace after stepping down as the firm鈥檚 chief operations officer for its construction arm last spring. He joined the business from US fit-out specialist Structure Tone in 2004, having earlier spent seven years at Wates.
