Luxford Architects wins planning approval for the conversion of a water tank at Greenham Common Airbase
A steel water tower on the Greenham Common Airbase is to be converted into a three-bedroom home.
Luxford Architects has won planning permission for the conversion of the 16m-high Braithwaite water tower
The tank of the Cold War relic will be converted into an open plan living space while the bedrooms and bathrooms will be suspended within the existing open frame below.
The architect says the modular design will mirror the prefabrication of the original structure.
Planning permission also includes a wind turbine and solar panels.
