Associated British Ports wants new infrastructure built at Immingham Port in Lincolnshire
Construction firms are being sought for a £100m job to design and construct a major upgrade to Immingham Port in Lincolnshire.
Associated British Ports (ABP) is looking for a firm to build a new roll-on, roll-off facility at the port, which is the UK’s largest by tonnage.
The job was advertised in a prior information notice posted yesterday by ABP, which manages around a quarter of the UK’s shipping.
The two-stage design and build contract includes the construction of a new passenger terminal building, an engineering workshop and up to three new harbour berths.
It also includes finger pier, pontoon and jetty structures, and land-based infrastructure including car parks and highways over a minimum of 46 acres.
A pre-qualification questionnaire with a call for competition will be issued by the end of June with a contract due to be awarded by the end of this year.
ABP said a development consent order will be submitted for the scheme this summer.
Immingham is part of the UK’s largest port complex, together with three other ABP ports, Grimsby, Hull and Goole.
