The manufacturer grew turnover by 9.3%, with export orders increasing 127%
Interior materials manufacturer SAS International has announced record pre-tax profits for 2010, attributed to a surge in export orders. The partitions, doors and ceilings manufacturer grew turnover by 9.3% to 拢74m for the year ending December 2010, resulting in a profit of 拢7m, up from 拢2.8m in 2009.
Although orders in the UK for the year showed a downturn, export orders increased 127%.
The company鈥檚 experience internationally proved crucial during the recession, according to director Andrew Jackson.
鈥淪AS has been operating outside the UK for more than 30 years, particularly in Europe and the Middle East,鈥 he said. 鈥淲e鈥檝e been pro-active in developing our business in emerging markets. Our strong results are a reflection of that.鈥
Chief executive Eddie McElhinney believes growth in the UK market should return within two years.
