Charity to provide consumers with independent advice on the government鈥檚 flagship scheme
The Energy Saving Trust has been awarded the contract to run the government鈥檚 Green Deal advice line.
The service will offer consumers advice on what they can obtain under the Green Deal, how the system works and the pros and cons of different measures available from April this year.
Energy minister Greg Barker said: 鈥溾淗aving a central and trusted advice line will be crucial to ensuring people have all the right information about how they can save energy and money. It will also be an important source of information for us on what consumers and businesses are saying as we move to launch of the Green Deal later this year.鈥
Initially the advice line will offer support for consumers wishing to access the Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT) and Warm Front schemes, before transitioning over to the Green Deal from October.
