Studio E Architects has released images of a radical plan for the transformation of the Greater London Council Island site just south of Westminster Bridge, London.
The site is owned by Frogmore Estates, which had planned a hotel complex until London mayor Ken Livingstone called the designs in. Studio E has now suggested transforming the derelict building into a model of sustainability, with a retained concrete core clad in ETFE, the material used in the Eden Project. The scheme still requires a backer.
