More than 700 people gathered at the Hilton hotel on London’s Park Lane on Monday night to honour the industry’s green gods and goddesses at the third annual ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV Sustainability awards

The man behind the UK Green ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV Council and the designers of the groundbreaking National Trust’s headquarters in Swindon were among the winners at Monday night’s ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV Sustainability Awards.

Presented by comedian and broadcaster Clive Anderson at the Hilton hotel in Park Lane, central London, the third annual awards ceremony showed the strides taken by many in the industry to lessen construction’s environmental impact.

Among those honoured were environmental consultant David Strong, who received the Sustainable Leadership award after a hectic year that included playing a pivotal role in the launch of the UK Green ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV Council. Architect Feilden Clegg Bradley’s Heelis building for the National Trust, which makes use of many natural resources from the trust’s land, was awarded Sustainable ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV of the Year (Largest ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV).

Other winners included ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV Design Partnership’s Trevor Butler, who won Sustainable Champion of the Year; Bovis Lend Lease, which won the Innovative Technology Award for its use of recycled plastic on construction site hoardings; and Skanska, which won Sustainable Contractor of the Year.
