Social housing contractor Durkan said it was satisfied with its results in the year to 31 January 2008, although pre-tax profit fell 25% from 拢4.6m to 拢3.4m.
The firm blamed planning delays for the fall.
Turnover was down 16% from 拢107m to 拢90m. The highest-paid director took home 拢303,269, down 28% from 拢422,422 in the previous year.
Meanwhile, Essex contractor Lakehouse reported a 65% jump in pre-tax profit from 拢668,000 to 拢1.1m in the year to 30 September 2007. Turnover rose 19% from 拢35.5m to 拢42.2m; its margin went from 1.9% to 2.6%.
The highest paid director took home 拢203,422, down from 拢250,335 the previous year.
The company said it had been successful in securing a number of long-term framework arrangements.
