Contractor reports 拢4.5m profit boosted by growth in civil engineering schemes

Contractors Dean and Dyball's profits rose by 17% to 拢4.5m in the year ending 30 September 2007. A growth in civil engineering projects was a significant factor in boosting the company鈥檚 profits.

The firm also registered a 5% rise in turnover. Its revenue for 2007 stood at 拢262m, up from 拢248m in the previous year.

Chief executive Adrian Dyball, said: 鈥淭hese figures confirm that the company鈥檚 main objective for the year, of consolidating the previous year鈥檚 growth and improving profitability, has been achieved.

鈥淟ooking forward, workload remains strong and we are confident of further increases in turnover and profit across the business with turnover budgeted in excess of 拢300m for the year ahead.鈥�

Reservoirs, pumping stations and sewage treatment works for Thames, Southern, South West, Portsmouth and Wessex Water were among the company鈥檚 projects in 2007.
