Housebuilder Barratt agrees deal on London regeneration scheme including 700 flats and new Sainsbury鈥檚 supermarket

Sainsbury's Nine Elms

Housebuilder Barratt has agreed a deal with Sainsbury鈥檚 and London and Quadrant housing association to develop one of the most significant schemes in London鈥檚 Nine Elms regeneration district.

The partners will now build the 1m sq ft mixed-use scheme, designed by architect Rolfe Judd, comprising a 80,000 sq ft Sainsbury鈥檚 supermarket and around 700 apartments in three towers of 120m, 90m and 62m in height.

The 13-acre project will also accommodate the Nine Elms station on the Northern Line extension.

The homes will be a mix of 1-4 bedrooms and private and affordable.

The scheme is the second major housing project developed by the three partners. Last year Barratt and L&Q bought an 8.5-acre site from Sainsbury鈥檚 for a 拢420m residential-led scheme in Fulham Wharf.
