Firm wins cost consultant role on 拢355m Jaguar plant

Davis Langdon has landed the role of cost consultant on a 拢355m Jaguar engine plant in Staffordshire, 好色先生TV understands.

The 120ha factory development, which was announced this week by Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), will manufacture low-emissions engines.

The job is Davis Langdon鈥檚 second major win in the Midlands in a month, after it was appointed to construct a Birmingham headquarters for aircraft parts manufacturer Aero Engine Controls - a joint venture between Rolls Royce and Goodrich Corporation.

Davis Langdon refused to confirm the Jaguar contract win but confirmed it was part of the Aero Engine Controls project team.

JLR said this week that the engine plant near Wolverhampton will create up to 750 jobs, providing a boost to the car manufacturing sector and the Midlands economy.

The government is supporting JLR鈥檚 project with a grant of up to 拢10m. The plant will be built in one of the new Enterprise Zones set up to boost local growth and attract new businesses.

Davis Langdon will work alongside architect Maber Associates, engineer Arup and regeneration consultant Ancer Spa on the 250,000ft2 project.
