Exclusive: Consultant to work on Google鈥檚 拢300m new European headquarters in Kings鈥檚 Cross
Davis Langdon has landed the role of cost consultant on Google鈥檚 拢300m UK headquarters in King鈥檚 Cross, north London.
The consultant, part of Aecom, has been working with developer Argent on the wider 67-acre redevelopment of King鈥檚 Cross, but had to tender separately for the Google HQ job and win approval from Google. Bam Construct was appointed preferred bidder for the main contractor role on the 1 million ft2 scheme last month, overcoming competition from Skanska and Carillion.
The site is located immediately to the north of the new concourse at King鈥檚 Cross station and sits to the east of King鈥檚 Boulevard and south of the Regent鈥檚 Canal.
The Allford Hall Monaghan Morris-designed building ranges in height from seven to 11 storeys and will include retail units, with shops, cafes and restaurants.
Jason Prior, global head of buildings and places for Davis Langdon鈥檚 parent company Aecom, said that the Google contract was an 鈥渋mportant one鈥 to win.
