London Thames Gateway Development Corporation approves design for 拢180m mixed-use Rathbone Place development
Rathbone Place, a 拢180m mixed-use development in Canning Town designed by CZWG, has been given approval by the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation (LTGDC).
The 680,000 sq ft scheme in east London will provide 650 homes and around 49,000 sq ft of new shops and cafes. It is set to receive planning permission in April, having won the approval of both the LTGDC and Newham council's development control committee. The quantity surveyor for the scheme is Rider Levett Bucknall.
Andrew Daws, CZWG's design partner for Rathbone market site, said: 鈥淐reating a new identity is the task of new architecture in a regeneration area. Our scheme for Rathbone will not only bring opportunity for new homes, a revived street market, and enliven the area with bold colour, but inspire residents to see their neighbourhood differently.鈥
