Venture with Lagan Construction and Ferrovial Agroman signed up for dualling of Belfast-to-Larne A8 road
Costain has won a contract for the dualling of the A8 between Belfast and Larne, in a joint venture with Lagan Construction and Ferrovial Agroman.
The 拢80m deal is for phase one of an early contractor involvement (ECI) contract for the scheme, supporting the Roads Service in taking it through the planning process as well as for design and construction.
This stretch of the A8 is a strategically important road in Northern Ireland, as it links to the port of Larne and carries over 17,000 vehicles a day.
Andrew Wyllie, chief executive of Costain, said: 鈥淭his ECI contract, for a new blue-chip client with a large portfolio of future schemes, strengthens our position as one of the UK鈥檚 leading solution providers in highways and adds to our portfolio of significant highways projects.鈥
