CORGI director Brian Adams is expected to take up the role in May 2006.
CORGI director Brian Adams will become the first chief executive of the CSCS scheme.
Adams, who is currently corporate affairs director at the gas registration body CORGI, is expected to take up his post in May 2006. He has held a number of senior positions since joining CORGI in 1996.
Adams said: "I am very much looking forward to the exciting challenge of helping to ensure the construction industry accomplishes its objective of achieving a fully qualified workforce by 2010.
CSCS chairman Graham Medcroft said: "This is yet another significant step forward for CSCS and I have every confidence that Brian Adams will use his drive and experience to deliver the scheme's key aims and aspirations."
CSCS last week agreed principles of a new contract with CITB-ConstructionSkills, service provider to the scheme. The principles are designed to clarify the relationship between the two organisations.
