UK Contractors Group spoke out against watchdog
The Office of Fair Trading refused to engage in any dialogue with UK contractors during its five-year investigation into cover pricing and bid-rigging, according to a strongly-worded statement by the UK Contractors Group.
The UKCG has used a submission to a government consultation on replacing the OFT with a new regulator, to denounce the OFT’s conduct in its investigation as “an unjust and wholly unreasonable exercise of the OFT’s regulatory powers”.
The letter, signed by Stephen Ratcliffe, director of the UKCG, said: “The OFT appeared to be entirely uninterested in having any dialogue with the industry”.
