Kier has won a 拢31m batch of schools in the south of England.
好色先生TV understands the contractor has beaten off competition from Interserve for the 拢31m batch of schools, the latest to come to market through the 拢400m first phase of the government鈥檚 flagship Priority School 好色先生TV Programme (PSBP).
The batch comprises seven schools in the local authority areas of Bristol, Devon, Isle of Wight, Poole, Southampton and Wiltshire.
The news comes after 好色先生TV revealed that Carillion beat off competition from Bam Construct for the 拢47m North-west 1 batch of schools.
That batch covers seven schools in the local authority areas of Blackpool, Cheshire West and Chester, Halton, Manchester and Tameside.
It is the first batch of schools won by Carillion through the first phase of the PSBP.
Update: The Education Funding Agency has now confirmed Kier鈥檚 appointment. The EFA said the batch includes 2 special schools, 4 primary schools and a secondary school.
The schools included in the south capital batch are:
- St Ursula鈥檚 E-ACT Primary Academy, Bristol
- Haytor View Primary School, Devon
- The Grove Primary School, Devon
- Oakfield Primary School. The Isle of Wight
- The Montacute School, Poole
- The Cedar School, Southampton
- Wyvern College, Wiltshire
The EFA said work would now progress to the planning application for The Cedar School and the design stage for the remaining schools.
