Crown House is targeted in the Unite unions campaign against changes in skill grades

Demonstrators converged on Farringdon tube station this morning in the latest protest over pay and skills by construction workers.

Workers have been protesting over employers鈥� plans to change the skill grades of M&E jobs which the Unite union says will result in 30% cuts in pay.

Protests have been targeted at five employers including Crown House, a contractor at Farringdon station.

Unite regional officer, Harry Cowap, said: 鈥淟ondon construction workers are determined to defend their livelihoods against this unprecedented attack on their skills and pay.

鈥淭housands of construction workers have been demonstrating for weeks outside construction sites across the capital in a warning to employers that they will not be cowed by bully-boy tactics or accept this attack on their trades.鈥�
