Programme announced at Manufacturing Technology Centre in Coventry
The Construction Innovation Hub has launched a programme for companies developing new methods for offsite construction.
The Platform Design Programme was announced today through an open call at the Manufacturing Technology Centre in Coventry.
Successful applicants will get support from manufacturing, performance and digital experts from across the three centres of the hub to develop and refine their products, technologies or services.
These will then be installed and widely showcased on a test building, which will demonstrate how these solutions can be applied across a wide range of UK government projects such as schools, hospitals and prisons.

The hub is looking to follow a design for manufacture and assembly (DfMA) approach, which is a method for design that focuses on ease of manufacture and efficiency of assembly.
The idea is to establish a 鈥渒it of parts鈥 which will allow new buildings to be configured from a set of pre-defined products.
Keith Waller, Construction Innovation Hub programme director, said: 鈥淲e鈥檒l be looking to draw together the very best ideas and practices, demonstrating not only how we can build better, but also how we can deliver greater value from how we create new buildings.鈥
Launched last November, the Construction Innovation Hub brings together expertise from the Manufacturing Technology Centre, BRE and the Centre for Digital Built Britain.
The hub, an initiative born out of the UK Construction Sector Deal, was awarded 拢72m in funding from UK Research and Innovation鈥檚 Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund earlier this year.
