Social housing specialist Connaught has bought two firms for a total of 拢4.3m.

PCL, an electrical testing and compliance servicing business, was acquired for 拢3.1m in cash. Environment Plus, a legionella and water testing business, was bought for 拢1.2m. The two firms鈥 combined turnover was 拢4.7m.

Connaught said the acquisitions were in line with its strategy of building an integrated national compliance services business.

The firm also issued a trading update, in which it said it was trading in line with the management鈥檚 expectations, ahead of its preliminary results for the 12 months ending 31 August 2007.

At the moment Connaught has a 拢770m order book, which is a record for the firm.
