Northwest specialist faces seven court orders to pay debts totalling 拢111,698 amid reports of financial difficulties
Northwest specialist Daniel Contractors has refused to comment on reports it is set to appoint administrators, as it emerged the contractor faced court judgments ordering the payment of more 拢110k in debts.
According to the Sunday Times, Daniel Contractors, a specialist engineering firm in Warrington, Cheshire, is understood to be close to bringing in administrators after running into financial difficulties.
The Sunday Times said administrators Deloitte were on standby to be appointed to handle any insolvency at the firm, which employees 1,300 staff.
When contacted this morning, Daniel Contractors declined to comment on the Sunday Times report.
A spokesperson for construction credit rating agency Top Service said the firm had been on its radar for a while 鈥渄ue to increasing number of adverse reports from our customers and the mounting County Court Judgements (CCJs)鈥.
He said: 鈥淲e withdrew the credit limit for Daniel Contractors a good few months ago based on the increased number of adverse reports from our customers.鈥
He said Top Service currently had 70 reports of late or non-payment from 30 different customers and had seven unsatisfied CCJ鈥檚 totalling 拢111,698, with the most recent CCJ registered on 8 May.
鈥淲e are keeping a close on eye on the situation,鈥 he added.
Daniel Contractors reported revenue of 拢117.4m in 2011 and pre-tax profit of 拢1.3m.
The company was founded in 1994 by brothers George and Conal Daniel.
